Just Married: 12 Years Ago

October 06, 2020 by Donna

So, this year, we find ourselves in the midst of a Pandemic with the same desire to have an EXTRAordinary 12 year Anniversary celebration. Every other year, we found ourselves venturing away from home to celebrate our love, but with all the restrictions on travel and indoor gatherings, staying home (or as close to home as possible) seemed best.

A Kentucky Derby Inspired Visit to Millstone Riding Club

September 01, 2020 by Donna

Reading a book or watching a documentary are certainly ordinary ways to gain information. If you’re new here, you figure out quickly that I seek out the EXTRAordinary! This energy attracts opportunities for living and learning in just that way. This time around, a Pre-Kentucky virtual fundraiser by Shawanda Vickers of Shoo Cosmetics was the inspiration for learning Kentucky Derby history through oral history while having the pleasure of interviewing Anne Butler and having a photoshoot on the pristine and rustic grounds of The Millstone Riding Club (MRC) in Allentown, NJ.

Sisterhood is More Powerful Than a Pandemic

March 31, 2020 by Donna

Long before a world pandemic, women have been battling and surviving plights of astronomical sizes with the love and support from their sister-circles. Whether you share a sisterhood between yourself and one other sister-friend, or you are fortunate enough to have a larger group of sister-friends, you cannot deny the necessity of their love and support when your world starts to move, shake, and sometimes crumble.

Do Yourself a Favor and Don't Go Back to Normal

March 23, 2020 by Donna

Our challenge each day as EXTRAordinary individuals is to dig deep to keep becoming better than we were the day before. Yes, the world has seemed to stop and a new normal was cast upon us, but don’t just ride it out in hopes to get back to normal.

Are you still trying to decide where to visit during Spring Break, on your next girl’s trip, or Baecation? I absolutely suggest visiting San Diego, CA. I had visited San Diego once before when I was a teenager still in high school…

Afternoon Tea: Grooming Girl Leaders

February 10, 2020 by Donna

This tea event represents so much of what life should be - creating memories, planting seeds, serving others, lifting others up, collaboration over competition, being “extra”, and showing gratitude. Someone may not see how an Afternoon Tea could make such a strong impact on a child. But what I know is that…

Find a Style You Love, Own it, and Then Outgrow it

January 21, 2020 by Donna in Style Consultation

I find myself at the crossroad of Taking Style Risks or Playing it Safe all the time! To be honest, taking style risks is hard and depending on what’s going on in my life, I just don’t have time to prioritize this. Luckily, I have a long and detailed track record of taking style risks so my default is well-developed. Lately, I’ve been choosing to use the moments in my life when I’m scheduled to have an EXTRAordinary life experience as an opportunity to take style risks, further define and refine my personal style.

My 2019 Reflections...A Year of Actualization and Overflow

December 30, 2019 by Donna

The words I would often say to others and had no problem believing under less challenging circumstances began to echo inside of me: “everything is temporary”. With that reminder, I allowed myself to fully feel whatever I needed to feel for as long as I needed to all while fighting for God’s promise of an abundant life. I didn’t want to lose hope for a life of overflow, so I chose not to!

Everything Feels Right When I Get to Toot My Own Horn

November 26, 2019 by Donna

Shortly after that outing, I discovered an old trumpet of my father’s under the bed and was determined to play it and make a sound. Although finding that trumpet intrigued me, I must confess that the trumpet was not my first instrument because my parents were convinced that I should learn piano first. Guess what?

Unexpected Key West Inspiration

November 11, 2019 by Donna

The tour itself was extremely informative and because I’m NOT a history buff, I was enlightened the entire time. I am however, a certified English teacher with a deep appreciation for literature, so the excitement leading up to our stop on the trolley was brewing as we drew nearer.
